The “Help a Library Worker Out - Dallas” Fund (HALO-DALLAS) is a project of Friends of the Dallas Public Library, a nonprofit 501c3 organization dedicated to supporting Dallas Public Library and it's staff. Inspired by EveryLibrary Institute's national HALO program, we're standing with our librarians and library staff who are experiencing personal or household financial difficulties during this time of crisis. Through an ongoing fundraising effort, Friends of the Dallas Public Library will make one-time, ‘no strings attached’ grants of up to $250 to qualified individuals in Dallas on a funds-available basis. The HALO-DALLAS Fund is supported by wonderful individual donors and a generous opening contribution from Friends of the Dallas Public Library.
If you are a Dallas Public Library employee and have been furloughed, we invite you to apply. Eligibility is limited to furloughed library workers, librarians, and library staff from Dallas Public Library.
Personal Eligibility for HALO-DALLAS Grants:
Grants will be made on a rolling basis as funds are available. Applicants may not receive a grant immediately, or at any time, if funds are not available. Applicants will be asked to provide personal information in order for Friends of the Dallas Public Library to fulfill this grant and to report it properly to the IRS. HALO-DALLAS Grants are one-time grants per individual or household. There is no obligation to repay this grant to Friends of the Dallas Public Library.
Please review the eligibility requirements before you make your application.
