2026 Library Love Note Submissions

I love the Mountain Creek branch because it is our home away from home. Staff always greets my family with a smile. If we get bored at home we always know we'll be welcome at the library. In addition to the positive environment, staff puts on great programs for kids and adults. You can tell the staff is thoughtful and thorough when putting together their programs. Over the past couple of years we have learned to cook new recipes, geocache, sew, design and create book nooks, met Anna and Elsa(!) and so much more. Libraries are so much more than books....though we love those, too. Thank you to the staff for all their efforts and shout-out to those who process the holds!

- Cecily

I love my library because it allows me to try many books on many topics without having to purchase a book. It evokes feelings of nostalgia as I spent many hours in my local library as a child which developed my love of reading. My library is an integral part of my community offering education and activities that enrich lives and bring people together. My library employs people that also share a love of reading, learning and curiosity. These people are friendly, kind and helpful.

- Annette

I love the Renner Frankford library for the friendly, caring, and helpful staff (many thanks to Elisa, Cindy, Jessica, Kate, Leslie, Melissa, Sarah, Shauna, Taylor). Individually and as a team, they have an excellent set of community educational programs focused on a variety of ages and interests. Since collections vary across the many DPL libraries, it's convenient for me to pick up and return materials at this library.

Shout out also to the entire Genealogy and History staff at the downtown library. Thank you for your ongoing partnership with the Dallas Genealogical Society.

- Susan

The library is the BEST! I cannot overstate my appreciation for the resources and programs that enhance our communities immeasurably. Library staff are always so welcoming. The library has been a dear place to me my entire life. I know it is underpaid, under-resourced, and often thankless work. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for everything you do for our city.

- Bridget

I love the Dallas Public Library system because they help me stay connected with my community and bring valuable resources to our community.

- Nicole

How wonderful to be able to walk into any DPL and to feel at home! I am cheerfully greeted and am able to ask for help without any judgement of how ridiculous my question might be. Thank you for providing a place for the community and a place where learning never ends.

- Bonnie

O libraries, my quiet, breathing home,

Where time moves soft between the ribs of thought.

Your doors unhinge the noise of hurried days

And teach the clock to listen, not to shout.

In aisles of spines, the dead lean close to speak,

Their whispers stitched in paper, ink, and dust.

Here hands may travel centuries in hours,

And borrowed voices teach the heart to trust.

You ask for nothing more than care and calm,

A promise kept in whispers and returns.

In your still light, the restless learn to wait,

And every question finds a way to yearn.

O faithful rooms where wonder hums in stacks,

You lend us lives, then ask we bring them back.
