You're A Friend! Bring a friend—and make new ones!

Friends of the Dallas Public Library closed out a milestone year in style with “You’re A Friend! Bring a Friend—and Make New Ones!”, our fall membership event celebrating National Friends of Libraries Week and 75 incredible years of supporting the Dallas Public Library.

Held in the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library, the evening was filled with community, music, and memories as guests gathered to celebrate the closing of our Chapters of Support Archive Exhibit—a special showcase of the Friends’ legacy of advocacy and impact.

Attendees enjoyed live music performed by talented Dallas Public Library students and staff, light bites and refreshing beverages, and a guided highlight tour of the 75th Anniversary exhibit led by DPL’s Teen Advisory Council.

The event was not only a look back at our rich history but also a toast to the future—celebrating the community that makes our mission possible and inspiring new members to join in our work to champion literacy, learning, and access for all.

As we turn the page to the next chapter, we’re deeply grateful to everyone who attended and continues to support the Friends of the Dallas Public Library. Here’s to the next 75 years of friendship, advocacy, and library love!
